# Block Dates and Times in Schedule

## You can quickly block your schedule at a selected time slot and prevent patients from booking at that time. Blocks can be used to schedule breaks in the day, schedule time for other services, or block your calendar while you meet with patients.

1\. From your MedEssist dashboard, go to your **Schedule.**

2\. Click "Tools"

3\. Click "Scheduling"

4\. Click "Block Timeslots"

Tip: Use the 'Block Schedule for Day' button if you wish to disable bookings for an entire day.

5\. Select the date(s) you wish to block your schedule.

6\. Select the time(s) you wish to block your schedule.

7\. Click **Block Primary Schedule** to block your main schedule, click **Block Clinical Schedule** to block your clinical schedule (Professional plans only), or **Block Both Rooms** to block your primary and clinical schedules (Professional plans only).
