How do patients benefit?

The ATC program helps pharmacists provide care for any patient without access to a primary care provider. 

With the strain on Ontario's healthcare system, this program helps improve patient access, from the moment pharmacies sign up. For example:

• International students without OHIP have easier and quicker access to assessments, such as for HPV vaccinations, contraception, and more 
• Rural patients experiencing long wait times (e.g. couple months for a contraception prescription) can receive care faster
• Patients with diabetes can receive supplies seamlessly without back-and-forth faxing with doctors
